Write for an executive reader who needs the purpose, decision-relevant evidence, implication and recommendation in one concise paragraph.

Study a useful model
Model: Customer response time rose 22% in May because weekend demand increased while staffing remained unchanged. High-value accounts experienced the longest delays, raising repeat-contact risk. We recommend a four-week rotating weekend-lead pilot and a review of response time and repeat contacts before wider implementation.

Plan from keywords

Use keywords only. Change names, figures, reasons and actions so the message is yours.

Limit the plan to reader, purpose and five to seven keywords. The learner should draft from the plan, not copy the model.
Draft and test with a reader
- Select only two pieces of decision-relevant evidence.
- Draft, cut repetition and test whether the recommendation follows from the evidence.
Retry rule: after feedback, repeat the weakest part with one changed condition.

Read as the intended reader and identify any unclear purpose, action or deadline. The learner decides and makes the revision.
Final writing task · independent rewrite
Write a 120–150 word executive summary from a new data set with one quantified finding, one implication and one proportionate recommendation.
Success: complete the task independently and make the listener’s next action or understanding clear.
