Advanced writing and workplace English often compress relationships into noun phrases. Compression is useful only when the reader can still identify the head noun, recover every relationship and see which detail belongs to which noun.

Require the learner to name the head noun and relationship before discussing word order. A compact phrase is successful only when another listener can reconstruct the intended meaning once.

Work from the central noun outward so every modifier has one visible relationship.
Accept a head only when the learner can say what the whole phrase names. For the final example, test whether “installed upstairs” modifies the device rather than the measurements.
Keep stable classification near the head and avoid turning every detail into an adjective.

Use natural order as a processing guide, not a decoration rule. Keep close compounds together, let the head arrive early enough to be recoverable, and move any relationship that requires explanation after it.
Do not force one universal adjective formula onto compound nouns. Ask whether a modifier describes the whole phrase or forms a recognised class with the following noun, then compare the learner’s version with the model.
Expose the relationship first; recompress only when the meaning remains unique.

A repair must preserve who does what, what belongs to what, and the scope of every modifier. If two readings remain possible, repeat the noun or use a clause.
Ask the learner to paraphrase before showing a model. If two learners give different interpretations, treat that difference as evidence that the original stack needs unpacking.
Choose the postmodifier that states the relationship most directly and attach it to one noun.

Long information usually belongs after the head, but position alone does not guarantee clarity. Confirm the target noun, information job and logical subject of every participle or clause.
Test ambiguous attachment by asking “What exactly is recorded, installed, designed or required?” If the answer is not immediate, split the phrase or restore a full relative clause.

Audio never starts automatically. Accent variety tests transfer, not imitation. Replay only the phrase where the learner loses a boundary or attachment and rebuild it from the head outward.
