B2 · Interpret, report, coordinate, and adapt
For learners: This capstone combines warning comprehension, update control, reporting, clarification, and coordination so learners can adapt when one confirmed detail changes the plan.
For teachers: The route recalls core language, withholds transcripts for two-pass listening, makes evidence sorting visible, and then removes models for a new final update.
Interpret a warning, report the risk, and coordinate the first safe actions under pressure.
EN: A changing safety situation requires more than one correct phrase. You need to identify confirmed information, mark what is still unknown, set a communication priority, report clearly, and update the plan without creating confusion.
TH: สถานการณ์ความปลอดภัยที่เปลี่ยนแปลงต้องใช้ทั้งการฟัง แยกข้อมูลที่ยืนยันแล้ว ระบุสิ่งที่ยังไม่ทราบ จัดลำดับความสำคัญ รายงานอย่างชัดเจน และปรับแผนโดยไม่สร้างความสับสน
Keep this as a language lesson. Use only the fictional information on the page, follow official staff instructions, and reward calm, evidence-based updates. In Final Practice, play Audio 2 twice and do not supply a model until the independent response is complete.
| Time | Teacher does | Student does | Required evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0–3 | Activates warning, reporting, and coordination language. | Recalls one phrase for each function. | Three usable sentence stems. |
| 3–7 | Plays Audio 1 twice; keeps the transcript closed. | Identifies the situation, route, roles, and reporting point. | A neutral current-situation summary. |
| 7–12 | Reveals the transcript and challenges invented details. | Sorts confirmed facts, changed information, and unknowns. | At least five correctly labelled items. |
| 12–17 | Asks what must be communicated first and why. | Sets a priority using evidence and names a check-back point. | A justified priority message. |
| 17–23 | Roleplays the site coordinator and two team members. | Reports, assigns safe communication roles, clarifies, and confirms. | A complete coordination exchange. |
| 23–30 | Plays unseen Audio 2 twice and observes. | Rebuilds the update and adapts the first plan independently. | Independent mixed-skill performance. |
Bring back one clear phrase for a warning, a report, and a coordinated next action.
Please stay away from…
The area is closed until further notice.
The confirmed risk is…
No injuries have been reported.
You take the attendance list; I’ll contact…
Check back with me at…
Keep this to three minutes. If the learner gives technical safety advice, redirect to communication: location, confirmed status, official route, named contact, and check-back.
Listen for what happened, what people must do, and who needs to report.
First listening: situation and purpose. Second listening: closed area, route, roles, people, and reporting point.
Play once for situation and purpose, pause for a 20-second summary, then play once for details. Allow one replay only when the learner can name the missing detail. Keep the transcript closed until both listens are complete.
Control the update by labelling what is confirmed and what still needs checking.
Electrical fault reported near west corridor.
West corridor closed.
East doors are the instructed route.
No injuries reported.
Reception must remain clear.
Group leaders now take attendance lists.
Visitors move to the garden assembly point.
Whether every group has arrived.
Whether any names are missing.
When the area will reopen.
Challenge extra detail with “Where did you hear that?” Accept reasonable unknowns only when the learner marks them as questions, not facts.
Choose what must be communicated first. Support the choice with confirmed evidence.
| Possible priority | Evidence | Communication value |
|---|---|---|
| Keep people away from the west corridor | The area is closed and the warning says not to approach it. | Stops contradictory movement instructions. |
| Move by the marked east route | East doors and the garden assembly point are named. | Gives one clear, official movement message. |
| Complete and report group counts | Group leaders have attendance lists; missing names go to the coordinator. | Creates the next verified status update. |
There can be more than one reasonable order for different audiences. Reward an evidence-based explanation and a clear reporting loop; do not teach operational emergency procedures.
Build one short briefing, then handle a clarification from the team.
A fault has been reported near the west corridor. The area is closed; no injuries have been reported.
Use the east doors. Group leaders take the lists. Reception stays clear.
Report missing names to the site coordinator and wait for the next official instruction.
Play Leader A, who asks about the busy route, and Leader B, who is unsure where to send a count. After the response, ask the learner to repeat the briefing in under 40 seconds without losing the reporting loop.
Listen to an unseen change, then produce a complete update without a model.
Listen twice. Do not open the transcript until the full response is complete.
Score the independent Final Practice, not the supported examples. Target: 5 out of 6 or higher.
Play Audio 2 twice. Allow one neutral repetition, but do not supply route, priority, or coordination language. Score UPD, CM, and FP only after the learner completes the full update. Record one observable success and one next target.
EN: Record the Final Practice again in under 45 seconds, then change one confirmed detail and produce a new update without notes.

The lesson applies the communication principles of site-specific instructions, clear responsibilities, current routes, and accounting/reporting loops; it does not provide operational emergency training.
