Why this lesson matters

For learners: A simple future plan becomes easy to understand when you say when it will happen, what you are going to do and what you need first.

For teachers: This lesson builds the concrete A1 vocabulary base for later listening about changed plans, describing trends and planning for consequences in TF28.

คำอธิบายภาษาไทย

บทนี้ช่วยให้ผู้เรียนพูดถึงแผนง่าย ๆ ในอนาคต โดยระบุเวลา สิ่งที่จะทำ และสิ่งที่ต้องเตรียม จากนั้นนำคำศัพท์ไปใช้พูดถึงแผนจริงของตนเอง

Why this lesson matters · เหตุผลที่เรียนบทนี้

For learners: Build practical time-and-plan vocabulary, retrieve it without a table, and tell one simple real future plan.

For teachers: The route moves from meaning and examples to retrieval, true sentence building, partner response and focused retry so vocabulary becomes usable speech.

Your Goal

By the end of this lesson, you can use at least eight time-and-plan words or chunks to tell a partner one real plan with when, what and one preparation step; answer one simple question and retry with less support.

Vocabulary Builder rule: the learner must select, retrieve and use the words. Do not ask the learner to read the complete word table aloud, and do not turn the lesson into a grammar lecture about future forms.

0–3

Learner: Names a time or action they recognise.

Evidence: One known starting word.

3–8

Teacher: Contrasts time phrases, plan chunks and action verbs.

Evidence: Meaning-and-use links.

8–12

Learner: Identifies the phrase and category.

Evidence: Listening recognition.

12–17

Teacher: Hides the table and gives six short clues.

Learner: Retrieves the words.

Evidence: Recall rather than copying.

17–22

22–26

Teacher: Checks that the plan is real or genuinely intended.

Learner: Makes keywords only.

Evidence: One personal plan.

26–30

Teacher: Scores, asks one simple question and gives one correction.

Learner: Answers and retries independently.

Evidence: VR/FP after retry.

Feedback rule: Let the learner complete the whole plan first. Give one task-success point and one high-value vocabulary correction, then retry only the weakest part.

Stage 1

Notice the purpose

3 min

Your task: Look at the cover. Choose one idea and say one word or short phrase about a future plan.

tomorrownext weekstudyvisit someoneprepare a bag
Teacher Help · Stage 1

Ask “What is one plan you have?” Accept a one-word answer, then expand only to a short chunk such as “tomorrow morning” or “visit my family.” Do not correct the future form yet.

Stage 2

Organise meaning and use

5 min

Your task: Read the simple meaning. Cover the Word or chunk column and retrieve the best expression.

Teacher Help · Stage 2

Contrast only what helps the task: exact time phrases, plan to / be going to, and prepare / bring. Ask for one personal example after each category rather than reading every row aloud.

Stage 3

Hear useful examples

4 min

Your task: Listen once without reading. Say the time phrase or plan word you hear. Listen again and repeat one complete example.

Olivia · Australian English · Neural

Time phrases

Speed:
Check after listening

tomorrow · tomorrow morning · tomorrow afternoon · tomorrow evening · next week · on Monday · this weekend · later

Joanna · American English · Neural

Plan examples

Speed:
Check after listening

study tomorrow evening · plan to visit · need to prepare · going to start

Teacher Help · Stage 3

Use one full play for recognition and one for the sentence examples. After that, replay only the needed item. Ask the learner to repeat one phrase from Olivia and one full sentence from Joanna.

Stage 4

Retrieve without the table

5 min

Your task: Close or cover Stage 2. Say the best word or chunk for each clue and add one short example.

1 The day after today.
2 Saturday and Sunday near now.
3 Have an intention to do something.
4 Get your things ready.
5 Go to see a person or place.
6 Begin something new.
Check after all six attempts

1 tomorrow · 2 this weekend · 3 plan to / be going to · 4 prepare · 5 visit · 6 start

Teacher Help · Stage 4

Allow self-correction and give only the first sound after a genuine attempt. Note one weak item for the Final Practice retry instead of correcting every pronunciation detail.

Stage 5

Build the three parts of a clear plan

5 min

Your task: Choose one frame from each group and complete it with a real idea.

When?

Tomorrow ______.

This weekend, ______.

Next week, ______.

What?

I plan to ______.

I am going to ______.

I am going to start ______.

Prepare?

I need to prepare ______.

I need to bring ______.

First, I need ______.

Teacher Help · Stage 5

Model one unrelated plan, then remove it. Let the learner choose one true or genuinely intended plan. Correct vocabulary meaning before article, preposition or pronunciation detail.

Stage 6

Prepare your real plan with keywords

4 min

Your task: Make short notes, not full sentences. Use at least eight target words or chunks in your preparation and final talk.

1 · When?time phrase
2 · What?plan + action
3 · Prepare?need + item/action

Partner question: “When are you going to do it?” or “What do you need?”

Teacher Help · Stage 6

Check that notes are keywords only. Ask the learner to practise once, then hide the complete word table. Keep only the three headings visible for Final Practice.

Stage 7 · Final Practice · 4 min

Tell a partner one simple future plan

Learner:

  1. Speak for 30–45 seconds using keywords only.
  2. Say when the plan will happen.
  3. Say what you plan or are going to do.
  4. Say one thing you need to prepare or bring.
  5. Answer “When?” or “What do you need?”
  6. Retry the weakest part after one focused correction.

Success target: 3/4 with no zero and FP = 2 after the focused retry.

VR · Vocabulary Range

0 · Not yet Cannot select time-and-plan language that matches the message.

1 · With support Uses at least five suitable target words or chunks after a prompt or visible word bank.

2 · Independent Uses at least eight suitable target words or chunks accurately without supplied sentences.

FP · Final Performance

0 · Not yet The listener cannot identify when, what or the preparation step.

1 · With support Gives all three plan parts after one prompt or correction.

2 · Independent Gives a clear 30–45 second plan with when, what and one preparation step, then answers one simple question.

Teacher Help · Final Practice

Score the first independent attempt before feedback. Give one task-success point and one vocabulary correction. Retry only the weakest part and record the improved VR/FP result.
