Move the contrast phrase to the beginning or end when the grammar allows, but keep the main message easy to identify.

- Join one pair with although + clause.
- Rewrite it with despite + noun.
- Rewrite another with in spite of + -ing.
- Add a sentence explaining what the contrast means for the decision.
